ESWC (for Nat0)

Time to me to make a summary of this event. It takes place into the "Palais Omnisport De Bercy" (in french ) wich can have 17000 spectators. The main room looks like this



In the first corner on the left is Quake IV, Quake III successor. In the first corner on the right there is PES 5, a football game. On left side there is Trackmania Nation ( a car game ) and after all the space is for Counter strike. The main ring was for the biggest matches of Counter-Strike (Man and Girls, Trackmania Nations and Quake IV).

mibr finish easily 1st of his group. Overtrained and Real skilled they only make a Draw match agains Lunatic Hai. The over favourite Lunatic Hai finished 2nd with a draw against pentagram.



In the groupstage 2, the 2 favourites win there match easily. Attax finally win against 4 kings 16-14 to take the 1st place of the group. Attax were very impressive.



Complexity comes back in this eswc with the same team as last year (storm sunman warden frod and tr1p). They dominate the group without lose. x6tence, the spanish team win them match also easily but lose against complexity with a little 16-14.



In this group a big surprise, The french team Webone win the team 3D on the main stage. The american under the pression of french public lose this match 13-17. Webone finish first of the group, french can be proud of what they do.



Another surprise in this group it's the russian team. They lose against fnatic and draw against Jax Money Crew whereas JMC draw against fnatic. Russian are eliminate.



The winner of the WEG tournament finish 1st of them group easily, without a lose but the 2nd place is very logic Evil.genius came at the 2nd place.



Well this group is a real surprise, I think most of you was thinking mTw will finish first of the group or 2nd behind SoA. It was a mistake Aftermath win all the match they play and finish first. SoA is second and mTw off. A deception for german :/

After this groupstage, there is another groupstage with the 2 better of each group.



The group 1 can be called the group of the death. 4 big teams 4 big matches. Lunatic Hai take their revenge on coL and finish 1st. coL win wNv the best team of the moment ( they win the WEG ) and 4 kings. Poor 4 kings they loose all them match.



The surprise aftermath stop his show with this group. The impressive NiP make draw against the Team 3D and win them match. The Team 3D finish 2nd with same score as NiP.



This group 3 make me cry... The french team webone ( one of the best surprise of the ESWC for me ) is eliminate by x6tence and aTTax. We can see that jMc make a good performance with a draw against x6tence and a win against aTTax. but its not enough.



A big group too. But no surprise. statistically fnatic and mibr were better. they were better in facts. No real surprise for the last groupstage.

EgO : qu'as tu penser de cet eswc par rapport a l'an dernier en terme de logistique?

Biki : Je pense que c est le meilleur évènement auquel on ait pu participer. Tant pour les spectateurs que pour les joueurs, c'etait parfaitement bien organisé.

EgO : Qu'a tu pensé de ta poule en arrivant a l'eswc?

Biki : Nous pensions que nous n'avons pas eu la poule la plus dure. Cependant, il y avait aussi des équipes que nous redoutions comme attax ou aurora gaming. Nous avons pris tous nos matchs au sérieux, nous ne voulions sous estimer personne.

EgO : meme question mais pour votre 2nde poule, les ladies 2 fois vice championne du monde, les seules quasi favorites ?

Biki : La encore, nous aurions pu avoir plus dur, comme les gx3 ou les hacker. Les ladies nous semblaient les plus dures a battre dans cette poule. Donc une fois le premier match gagné; nous avons été confiantes pour la suite

EgO : Apres ce draw arraché aux seules sous les hourras du publics, comment avez vous abordé la finale contre elle?

Biki : Nous ne sommes pas passées loin de la défaite pour le premier match contre seules. On met toujours beaucoup de temps a se chauffer et c'etait le premier match de la journée. Heureusement, on y a cru jusqu'au bout. Ensuite concernant le match de la finale, nous avions vu joué les seules sur nuke contre gx3 mais aussi contre megapolis. On connaissait donc un peu leur type de jeu. Puis nous savions que nous etions bien rodées sur nuke. Donc on les a redouté mais on savait qu on pouvait gagner.

EgO : Mitsu dit que sans le public vous ne seriez pas les championnes du monde qu'en pense tu?

Biki : Je dirai que le public nous a surmotivé. C est évidemment plus facile de jouer avec autant de gens qui nous supportaient. Ca a du être dur pour les seules. Maintenant, avec un peu de recul, je pense que nous étions supérieurs mentalement et techniquement à ce moment la.

EgO : Quels étaient pour toi les points faibles des seules, et donc vos points forts a vous?

Biki : Notre teamplay était bien rodé. Je pense qu on a bien réussi a jouer ensemble. Ce que je n'ai pas ressenti chez les seules.

EgO : Une dernière question et je te laisse tranquille. Quels vont être les prochaines compétitions que vous aller faire et comment les aborder vous?

Biki : On ne sait pas encore. On va bien profiter de lété pour se reposer et décider de tout ca à la rentrée. j'espère en tout cas qu on aura l'occasion de participer à plus de tournois mixtes. Voila

Interview with seules aurora

EgO : What do you think about eswc 2006, is it better or worst
eswc 2005 and why?

Aurora : I think this years ESWC was way better, but also slightly different. 2005 was also different from 2004. I miss 2003 and 2004 where it was held at futuroscope. It was more of a "gamers" atmosphere, compared to this years, and last years tournament where it was made "public friendly". But playing twice on the center ring stage this year was awesome - even if our results made on stage where to be debated
We seem to play a lot better without the added pressure of thousands of
screaming ppl !


EgO : What do you think about your group when you see it?

Aurora : We were happy with our first group, also with our second. All teams are strong this year, so we didnt see it as being "a good or a bad group". We knew we had to win all our matches, and fortunately for us we pulled through on the majority of them. Only two matches lost where as i mentioned, on the stage !

EgO : Same question for the 2nd group with btb and ladies.AMD.

Aurora : I have never lost a match to Ladies.amd, so i was not afraid of that. BtB we have always had some problems with - they are a strong team against us for some reason.

EgO : After your draw against btb how did you begin the final ?

Aurora : Unfortunately it was a draw, which we werent so happy with. Especially as we led with 15-7 at one stage. Getting that last round seemed harder than first thought! We went into the finals positive, and hoped that we could prove that we were the best team. Unfortunately we didnt do that, BTB were just a step ahead in the finals.

EgO : What was the best into team seules and the worst in the eswc 2006, and what is the reason for you of your lose?

Aurora : The best was comming back from a certain loss against megapolis. We were behind 14-5 and needed 10 rounds in a row to win the match. We pulled through and made it! The worst was losing in the finals for sure. No one likes to lose.

EgO : What tournament and competition will you do this year and how will you train?

Aurora : Not sure what is in store for the rest of the year, but will definately bein a few tournaments around the place We will tain as we usually do. Bootcamp now and then and online training 5 times a week!
